How to install, and the warning you will see
The download is a .zip. Open it, extract it, and run the NubliVault-Setup.exe inside. Because we are not code-signed yet, Windows shows "Unknown publisher": click More info, then Run anyway. That is expected, and we are fixing it — until we do, we would rather warn you than pretend it does not happen.
To check you downloaded the right file: in PowerShell, Get-FileHash on the .zip should return exactly this.

On the Mac there is no warning
The app is signed and recognised by Apple, so just open the .dmg and drag NubliVault to your Applications folder. On first run macOS will ask permission to read your folders — that is the system asking, and without granting it there is no backup.
To check you downloaded the right file: in Terminal, shasum -a 256 of the .dmg should return exactly this.

Frequently asked questions
- What if I lose my computer?
- Install NubliVault on the new machine and sign in with the same Google account. Your backups come back — no kit to store, no password to remember. Only one thing to watch: lose access to that Google account and the computer at the same time and we will have no way to give your files back.
- Can you see my files?
- Technically yes, and we would rather say it plainly. Files are compressed and encrypted on your computer before upload and what we store is unreadable without the key — but we keep a protected copy of that key, because it is what lets us rescue you when the computer is gone. We only use it at your request, during a recovery. We do not analyse, index, share, or train anything on your files. If you need a backup that not even the provider can open, NubliVault Desktop is not the right product today.
- Does it work on Mac or Linux?
- Mac yes: there is an installer for macOS 11 or newer, a single file that runs on both Intel and Apple Silicon. Linux not yet.
- How much does it cost?
- Nothing for 3 months. It is our launch offer: create an account while it lasts and you get 50 GB free for 3 months, counted from the day you sign up. After that there will be paid plans, with pricing announced beforehand — nobody is billed without agreeing first, and we warn you well before the period ends.
